One of our founding herd members Phoenix is the beating heart of BMPR & what we stand for. She remains in or care due to her inherent wildness preventing her from fully understanding what is asked of her in the domesticated world. She lives a full & happy life within the sanctuary & her herd without any pressure or changes from us humans that might unsettle her. Phoenix arrived into our care in April 2014. She was in such poor physical health she was never expected to survive. She was emaciated, had terrible skin issues & was burdened by external & internal parasites, however with careful support & nurturing she flourished into the strong & beautiful soul she is today.
